VOLUNTEER GUIDELINES
Location
LAFD Fire Station 5, 8900 Emerson Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90045
The volunteer table will be set up across the street from the fire station. Please look for the VOLUNTEER banner along the fence on the west side of Emerson Avenue.
Check-In
Check-in time is at 5:30 a.m. The volunteer check-in table will be setup opposite the fire station, on Emerson Avenue. Please note, some volunteers will start in one area and be moved to another, as the event progresses. All volunteers must check-in to sign a waiver form and receive their assignments. You may also download and bring the completed form with you. Adult waiver form is available here, minor (under 18) waiver form is available here.
Parking: Parking will be available in the lot located behind LAFD Fire Station 5. Access to the entrance of the lot is located at Liberator Avenue and W 88th Place, behind the Emerson Adult Learning Center. Street parking is also available.
Dress
We’ve been experiencing excessive heat, so please pay attention to the weather report and dress accordingly. Most volunteers will be standing for long periods, so please wear comfortable closed-toe shoes. Jeans or shorts are OK.
Schedule
Here is the planned schedule for the day of the run. We should be done cleaning up and breaking things down by 1200-1230.
0530 — Begin setup
0545 — Road closures begin & Vendor Setup
0600 — PPU and Registration Opens
0715 — Opening Ceremony
0730 — Half-Marathon Start
0740 — 10K Start
0800 — 5K Start
0900 — Award ceremony begins
1100 — Cut-off for all races, rolling cleanup and breakdown begins.
